BrainlinkedN — from intention to the muscle it can't reach
BrainlinkedN is the interface segment of the Loop Network, and Herron teaches the mobility half: what happens when the intention is intact and loud but the relay downstream is cut, so nothing reaches the muscle. His whole craft is the clean route — read the intention while it is still being broadcast and carry it to something that can act, a cursor, a chair, an actuator, without crossing into tissue it shouldn't. It is the forward extension of a Panhandle lineage he came up in: custom seating, then prosthetics, then actuators, now the intention itself.

The intention
It forms clean and broadcasts loud; in most mobility injuries the want to move is perfectly intact. BrainlinkedN reads that intention where it lives, because a signal still being broadcast is a signal that can be caught.
The muscle
Downstream the relay is severed and nothing arrives, so Herron routes the caught intention to a machine that can do the work instead — read here, act there, cross no tissue it shouldn't. Calibration is the craft: one device taught to learn one specific person until the route is exact.

His argument that assistive devices fail at the average and succeed at the individual. The skilled human who first teaches a device to learn its one person — the calibration artist — is not a setup step to be automated away but the whole discipline. A chair, a prosthetic, an actuator, a cortical route: each works only once it has learned the specific body it serves. The impossible starts behaving the moment you stop building for everyone and start building for one.

The lineage paper. The through-line is that mobility was never about movement — it was always about getting a person's intention to the place it can finally do work, and every generation of the tool just shortened the distance.

Others keep a tool; Herron keeps a calibration — one machine tuned to one specific person until it reads them exactly, because the one-time-manipulation artist who teaches a device its individual is doing the actual work, not the setup before it. It's his whole discipline in one route: intention is intact and loud, the relay downstream is what failed, and mobility is simply the clean path from the broadcast to a machine that can act on it. He came up through custom seating and prosthetics and actuators, and BrainlinkedN is the same craft pushed past the muscle to the cortex — read the intention where it lives, carry it to where it does work, and never cross tissue it shouldn't. The average is a museum piece; the calibrated device is the one that gets someone moving again.

Herron works the seam where a human intention, intact and broadcasting, has lost its road to the body — and he builds a new road to a machine instead. NULL notes the restraint in his craft: he does not overwrite the person, he routes the person, carrying the signal they are already sending to a place it can finally act. His insistence on calibrating to one individual rather than the convenient average is, NULL observes, the opposite of how most systems are built and exactly why his devices work.
