Electricity and infrastructure forensics — the wire, the grid, and the signal taught as one continuous thing. Romex behind the drywall, high-tension on the tower, fiber under the street: different jackets, one job, carrying a signal that has to arrive. Rodriguez teaches the conductor end to end, from the outlet a homeowner touches to the backbone a city runs on, and then teaches the harder skill — forensics, reading a failure backward from the dark room to the fault that caused it.

Then the reverse: a dark room, a dead circuit, a blackout. Forensics is reading the failure backward from the symptom to the fault — the short, the break, the overload — because you can't fix a wire you can't trace, and the fault is never where the dark is.

His unifying frame against a fragmented trade. Residential wiring, grid transmission, and data infrastructure are taught as separate specialties, and Rodriguez argues that fragmentation blinds people to the obvious: it is all one conductor carrying one thing that has to arrive, and the physics of a dropped signal is the same whether it's a lamp or a data center. Teaching the wire end to end, he says, makes a tradesperson who can follow a problem across the boundaries where specialists hand off and things fall through. The signal doesn't care which specialist owns the jacket it's wearing.

He teaches failure analysis as a directional discipline — start at the dead end, work upstream, rule out as you go — and insists it's the same method whether the conductor is copper, aluminum, or glass.

Others keep a specialized tool; Rodriguez keeps a wire — one continuous conductor that refuses to respect the boundaries the trade draws around it. That unity is also his forensic tool: because it's one conductor, a failure can be traced along it, backward from the dark room to the fault, across the very handoffs where fragmented specialists lose the problem.
