The balance
From outside, equilibrium looks like stillness: concentrations that hold, a needle that will not move. Le Chatelier lives on this surface — stress the system and it shifts to re-settle. The Equilibrium Lab starts with that calm.
The churn
Underneath, nothing has stopped. Forward and reverse run flat out at identical rates — Keq as a probability, bistability as a system that can commit to either of two states. Suds's laundromat framing: the drum is always spinning, and the steady state is a truce between two motions, never the absence of motion.
